Lurgi Plants for LOTOS S.A.

Lurgi S.A. Krakow, a subsidiary of Lurgi AG, recently signed a contract with Grupa LOTUS S.A., Gdansk for the construction of a hydrogen plant, a crude oil distillation unit as well as a vacuum distillation unit.

The order value of the hydrogen plant, which will be designed for a capacity of 7 tonnes (metric tonnes) per hour, amounts to over 80 million euros. The special feature of this hydrogen plant is its capacity to process a diversity of feedstocks such as natural gas, naphtha and LPG (liquid petroleum gas). The total capacity of the crude oil / vacuum distillation complex with an order value of 102 million euros will amount to 4.5 million tpa of crude oil.

The projects will be executed under the leadership of Lurgi S.A., Krakow. They form part of the Comprehensive Technical Upgrade Program to enhance the process capacity and output rate of the Gdansk refinery operated by Grupa LOTUS S.A. and attest to the continued good cooperation of both companies.

The plant is scheduled for commissioning in the second half of 2009.
