Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions announces a successful delivery of oleochemical plants in India

Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions, the engineering and construction business of the Air Liquide Group, announces the successful handover of two oleochemical plants in India. The fatty acid fractionation (with a capacity of 120 tons per day) and the glycerin distillation plants (with a capacity of 35 tons per day) have been handed over to Godrej Industries Ltd at their Valia/Gujarat oleochemicals plant complex.

The oleochemical plants based on Lurgi technologies, as part of Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions technology portfolio, provide high purity end products (fatty acid distillate and pharma grade glycerin), which have multiple applications in a variety of industries such as food, cosmetics, detergents, surfactants and pharmaceutical.

At the same time these plants are energy efficient, ensure ease of operation through automation and require little maintenance. The outstanding performance coupled with cost effective operations will facilitate the competitiveness of Godrej Industries Ltd products on the market.

Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions leads the market through its portfolio of technologies, including the decades of advanced Lurgi design and engineering in serving the world's oleochemical producers.

Godrej Industries Ltd. as part of the Godrej Group is a major player in the oleochemicals industry. Godrej Industries Ltd. is a long term customer and has repeatedly purchased Lurgi technology and process plants since 1970. The most recent plants are the oil splitting and glycerin water evaporation (startup in 2013) and these new glycerin distillation and fatty acid fractionation plants.

Domenico D’Elia, Vice President and Chairman, Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions, said, We are glad to be a technology partner of choice for a long standing customer. With combined efforts of our teams in Frankfurt and India, we provided a process design, detail engineering along with the procurement, advisory services and ultimately completed installation works well within EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) timescale.
