Cryogenic lines
We design and manufacture insulated cryogenic lines (aluminum/stainless steel) to connect tanks to fluid equipment, thrusters, engines, outgassing and filling ports.
Reliable fluid transport for launchers
Connecting the cryogenic tanks to the propulsion system is a critical function in any launcher architecture. Air Liquide manufactures high-performance cryogenic lines designed to transport liquid hydrogen (LH2), liquid oxygen (LOx), liquid helium (LHe) and liquid methane (LCH4), under extreme conditions. Whether for the main stage or upper stage, our lines ensure fluid integrity and thermal control from the filling port to the engine inlet.
Custom design & advanced insulation
Our cryogenic lines are engineered to meet specific mechanical constraints and thermal requirements. Depending, We manufacture lines from aluminum or stainless steel, according to your requirements.
To minimize thermal losses and prevent boil-off, we employ diverse insulation architectures adapted to the line's location and function:
- Double-wall vacuum: For maximum thermal efficiency.
- Injected, sprayed insulation: For lightweight protection.
Comprehensive manufacturing capabilities
Air Liquide offers a complete industrial solution for cryogenic lines. Our capabilities cover the entire production chain, from designing, manufacturing and precision welding to proof pressure testing and cleaning.
We can produce lines ranging from 1 to 6 meters in length, ensuring we can equip both compact upper stages and massive main stages. Every line undergoes rigorous control to guarantee it meets the stringent safety standards of human and cargo spaceflight.
A key supplier for Ariane 6
Our expertise is currently deployed at an industrial scale for the European launcher program. Air Liquide manufactures most of the cryogenic lines for the Ariane 6 launcher, with 150 unique references developed specifically for this vehicle.
This volume of production demonstrates our ability to manage complex supply chains and deliver high-quality flight hardware at the cadence required for modern launcher operations.
