Turbo-Brayton Liquefiers for Hydrogen

Advanced hydrogen liquefaction technology derived from space applications. Fully skidded, oil-free systems delivering 6.5 to 30 tons per day for hydrogen energy, industry, and LH2 carriers.

Proven in LNG, the Turbo-Brayton system is now deployed for hydrogen liquefaction. It enables efficient liquid hydrogen production.

A scalable, fully skidded product range

We offer two standardized, fully skidded Turbo-Brayton Liquefier (TBL) models to meet the growing scale of the global hydrogen market. Operating at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7, these systems provide reliable, high-capacity LH2 production.

TBL product range

  • TBL-1400: Produces 6.5 tons per day (TPD) of liquid hydrogen with a compressor power of 1400 kW.
  • Standard 30 TPD: Designed for massive industrial output, producing 30 tons per day with an 8000 kW compressor power. It has an expected consumption of >10 kWh/kg (at Twater=25°C).

Oil-free & maintenance-free operations

At the heart of the system are our proprietary magnetic bearing moto-turbo expanders. By utilizing contactless magnetic bearings, the entire compression and expansion machinery operates completely oil-free.

This drastically reduces the complexity and downtime associated with traditional mechanical liquefiers. The system is engineered to be maintenance-free for 5 years, providing operators with unparalleled uptime and a strictly controlled operating cost across its lifecycle.

Rigorously tested at Air Liquide

Before scaling to broader industrial markets, our hydrogen liquefaction technology underwent extensive validation. The 6.5 TPD system was rigorously tested for 6 months at Air Liquide's dedicated Campus Technologies Grenoble test center, proving its steady-state reliability, safety, and high-efficiency performance for continuous liquid hydrogen production.
