Lurgi to Manage Technology Coordination for Hydrocracker

Lurgi GmbH, Frankfurt, a subsidiary of the Air Liquide Group, recently received an order from OJSC “TAIF-NK”, Nijhnekamsk, Tatarstan to manage the technology coordination for a hydrocracker and downstream process units to be built in the Russian refinery TAIF-NK. Lurgi’s task will be to monitor the interaction between the processes implemented and coordinate the corresponding licensors.

This order was placed under the contract concluded in 2009 between Lurgi GmbH, Frankfurt am Main, and OJSC “TAIF-NK“, Nijhnekamsk, Tatarstan for the construction of a new complex in the Russian refinery TAIF-NK. The goal of the project is to raise the refinery capacity from 7 to 9.1 million tons of oil per year and adapt the quality of the fuel products to the Euro 5 standard.

“For us, the fact that in addition to the outline agreement for the new refinery complex we now also received the order for technology coordination is a great sign of trust on the part of the customer in our competence and expertise in the field of refinery technology”.
